Mistake 3: ”This can be sorted out easily and sensibly“ (“Besides: we have plenty of time”)

a.    Parents and their children (almost) never communicate eye-to-eye – regardless of the best intentions of everyone involved.

This becomes even more stressful once the conventional roles between parents and their children are turned upside-down.

b.    An already complex matter might become even more dynamic once siblings are involved.

We regularly observe underlying tensions, which sometimes were harbored for decades, suddenly flare up again making things yet more complicated.

c.    Already high levels of emotional stress are aggravated with feelings of guilt (of all involved), distance from each other and surprisingly often also, because of the significant financial commitments required.
